Belsize Park RFC for alumni players

Please see below information for Rugby Club playing opportunities in London for DURFC alumni.

Below is an email from the Director of Rugby, Zach Webb.

"As many of your final year students will be moving to London soon, I am writing to you as Director of Rugby of Belsize Park RFC to introduce ourselves. We are the most central club in London, playing in Regents Park and training in Coram Fields. Many of our players played 1st XV for some of the top Universities across the country. But we also offer rugby suitable for all levels including social.

We are sure they will not regret it as we have a wonderful club filled with diverse characters and great players from all over the globe playing some very good rugby that can fit in with good careers.

The past few years have been a period of huge excitement and growth for the club as we now have 6 adult men’s sides and an affiliate minis rugby section. We have achieved 12 promotions since 2011 across our 4 senior league sides. Our 1st XV have finished 4th in London 2 in first two seasons in this division and we are keen to get promoted next season.

At Belsize we pride ourselves on the idea that we embody all the best of amateur club rugby, i.e. competitive and exciting rugby, a full touring schedule, camaraderie and an unreserved welcome to anyone who puts on the club colours and to competitors alike. By training just once a week on Wednesdays in a very central location (not having to travel hours to outer London to get to training), with current professional players (Saracens and London Irish) as coaches, and playing on Saturdays, this suits guys working in demanding jobs in London who still want to enjoy a competitive high level of rugby.

We are also the most widely toured amateur club in the world. We tour twice a year (one national and one international) and have visited as far-flung destinations as Brazil, Hong Kong, China, most of USA and Canada, Mozambique, Swaziland, South Africa and most of Europe. Please have a look at the social and tour tabs on our website.

We have great socials and recently set an unofficial record for the Heaviest Front Row in the world on BT Rugby Tonight (440kg). We were finalists for the RFU club of the year award (both amateur and professional) two seasons ago.

We would really appreciate you sending this email around to your players and alumni for their consideration. If they would like to sign up or want more information then click this link and fill it in, or just email me directly.

We believe we are doing something different and special at Belsize and we would love your graduates and alumni to be a part of this. Please let me know that you received this email. I look forward to hearing from you. Thank you. "

Yours in rugby, Zach Webb

Director of Rugby
